Tuesday in Costa Rica, as part of the Championship Concacaf 2017, qualifier for the FIFA World Cup finals in South Korea, our Grenadiers U-20, after their victory last Saturday against St Kitts & Nevis [5-1] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20142-haiti-korea-2017-grenadiers-crush-st-kitts-nevis-[5-1].html , for their second group match, suffered a heavy defeat [4-1] against the USA at the "Stadio Ricardo Saprissa Ayama"...

A match that well started after the opening of the score in favor of Haiti thanks to a goal to the 15' of Kenley Dede (Don Bosco of Pétion-Ville) [1-0]. Far from being impressed, the Americans regained control of the game and Brooks Lennon on Penalty to the 28' equalized the score [1-1]

At halftime the score remains unchanged [1-1]

After the break, the Grenadiers seem to lack enthusiasm and face a strong American defense before being caught after 7 minutes of play in the second period, on a shot of Luca De La Torre to the 52' [2-1] and then 1 minutes later Brooks Lennon deceives the Haitian goalkeeper (Isaac Rouaud) and scored a 3rd goal (his 2nd in the match) for the benefit of the Americans that noting seem to stop. Powerless and feverish, 5 minutes later the Grenadiers take another shot from Brooks Lennon (his 3rd in the game) at 58', bringing the score to [4-1] in favor of USA, ahead of Grenadiers visibly overwhelmed by the events.

Score unchanged after 3 minutes of additional time.

With this heavy defeat, the Grenadiers, who were in the lead of Group B find themselves last in 3rd position...

On Friday, our Grenadiers will have to win the victory against Panama if they want to qualify for the final in order to obtain their ticket to the U-20 2017 Men's World Cup (South Korea, 11 May to 20 June 2017).
